Description

This program is a 45-60 minute lecture/demonstration that includes the performance of multiple taiko pieces, demonstration of auxiliary instruments, and the teaching of a Japanese-style folk dance created for Southern Arizona, interspersed with information about the history and culture of taiko, or Japanese drumming, as it evolved into the modern ensemble art form that is now practiced and performed across the globe.

Depending on the length of the program, a short Q&A sessions with the performers can be included. This program involves two to five artists depending on availability and is appropriate for all ages.
