The Reality of Game Development

Description

Welcome to the Reality of Game Development: A virtual discussion on what it means to make video games professionally.

This presentation will focus on:

  • What it means to get hired at a studio vs. starting your own company.
  • Important skills needed to get started.
  • Downsides and difficulties of being in the game industry.
  • This presentation will NOT focus on: What colleges to attend, relocation advice, etc. Instead, this will be about the decisions and challenges you should start thinking about if you want to design games for a living. We will also have time for an interatcitve Q&A discussion.

About Josh Bycer - For more than seven years, Josh Bycer has been researching and contributing to the field of game design.
